T206 cards in my local area craigslist...??? opinions...

Found this ad while browsing my local Oregon craigslist:

http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/clt/839394635.html

He wants $1500 for 43 T206 cards..some appear to be graded by SGC.

Is this worth checking out?
Potential for turning some profit on this or not really?

His price seems to be fairly average to high based on ebay standards..

Thanks all.

    You could go look.

Make sure you can spot a fake, before you buy.

I might offer about <$800 cash, if I REALLY liked them.

(Forget about his "price is firm," lingo. He would
likely be lucky to get $1K in this economy.)

It might be tough to make money on them, unless you
    can steal them.

Little hard to see the exact condition from the scan but they look like beaters. Doubtful if it's worth trying to flip these for a $1500 purchase price.

If you don't know a lot about the T206 and T205s make sure you take someone who does.

He could have bought a few graded cards and tossed them in with a pile of fakes to make the average consumer think they are all real.

You do really need to be careful. Especially if these cards are listed under the Casual Encounters section.

There are really few "deals" out there... unless you really stumble into something.

Someone advertising on craigslist, with graded cards, knows something so you aren't going to steal them. Odds are you will pay a fair price.

If it really seems like too good of a deal the you should be careful.

I would probably pass on this unless you know T206 cards.

    Cards look legit...looks like a couple T205 buybacks, 6 graded (4 PSA, 1 BVG, 1 SGC), but also a '34 Goudey?

"most are grade 2 or so" makes the $35 per card average about double want you would want to make it worth while to flip them.

Cash talks, BS walks. I would show up with $800 and start talking. No more
