    Not the HOF card.
  • Isn't Webster the player died a few year ago from drugs taken during his career (or was prescribed for pain from playing football) ?

  • the allen iverson dude that posts here.. is so funnily ghey.

Webster died basically broke and at one time was living under a bridge. He sufferred demensia from all the hits to his head and was said to be addicted to pain meds. His death and how the union treated him was used as an example on by the older players on how the league and union didn't look out for its players who suffered due to playing the game

The card is not the Topps Certified Auto available in packs. It does not have the logo on the front. Webster uncertified autos never brng that much but his only Topps insert auto does bring big bucks.

Are you sure you weren't thinking of J.R. Richard under the bridge??? Nice job by two different Unions

It's kind of off-topic a bit but the Steelers have had more than their share of bad luck.

Mike Webster dementia and drug problems
Justin Strzelczyk hit a gas tanker truck while fleeing from police and drinking
Ernie Holmes car crash in texas last winter
Dwight White died from a blood clot after back surgery
Steve Courson killed by a falling tree
Terry Long suicide by drinking antifreeze
David Little died while lifting weights, I think from a heart attack
Jefferson Street Joe Gilliam died after a drug problem IIRC

Maybe I notice it more because my "local" team is the Steelers but there's been a lot of them. Even the Pirates had their share of bad luck in the 60s and 70s.
