Valuable Historical Home Run Baseballs

OK, we all know historical HR baseballs are worth a lot. What will the last Home Run at Yankee Stadium be worth if a fan catches it? How about the 1st Home Run in the new stadium? I think a lot depends on who hits them. If it is your average John Doe relatively unknown player not as much but I would think if a star such as Jeter or ARod hit them they would be worth a ton.

The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

    excellent point.
the only way a ball could be worth something is what would someone be willing to pay....and therefore how to protect thier investment.
for sure mlb or the yankees will not be supplying psa/dna baseballs...so the catcher of the bb has to have supporting documentation...like a video...signed afidavit from yankee managment or something.
Collecting PSA... FB,BK,HK,and BB HOF RC sets
    1948-76 Topps FB Sets
FB & BB HOF Player sets
    1948-1993 NY Yankee Team Sets
  • Not sure if the Yankees do the something similar as the Phillies...

If you catch a HR ball at Citizen's Bank Park, the team gives you a certificate for the game and HR and will have the player who hit the ball autograph it at no charge.

I guess security has been huge at Yankee stadium this year, even in the players clubhouses. I read an article about what players want to take. Jeter said what he wanted he was basically going to have to steal.

How cool would it be to have Jeter's, Thurm's old locker? This is going to be one huge sale.

I would think that some of that stuff will be brought into the new Stadium?

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I would think artifacts such as statues in monument park, Gehrig's and Munson's lockers would be bought to the new stadium. Jeter has said with a devilish grin during an ESPN interview that he had his eye on "stealing" one item in Yankee Stadium that is special to him.
