~* THE OFFICIAL DARKSIDE WEEKLY SWAP/BST THREAD FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING 9/8/08 *~

POST YOUR GOODIES FOR THE WEEK, Y'ALL!
Mostly Liteside leftovers from me this week, but eh, they're world coins too, right?
One of these fine days I will scan some of my Darkside stuff.
Cash is king, but reasonable trade offers and counteroffers will be considered on this stuff. All prices postpaid.
No pictures yet, will sell the following for whatever the going rate is, or swap:
1951 USA 1c, NGC MS65 RD, nice red Wheatie with average luster and no spots or distractions; a cheap slab, I'm sure.
2000 USA proof set, orignal government packaging with box
2005 USA proof set, ditto
1897 Indian Cent, Bronze.
VF, nice mahogany toning on this one. One darker patch below the ear keeps it out
of the "great eye appeal for the grade" category, but otherwise it's pretty decent,
and it looks a little bit better in hand, I think. I like the color of it (except for the stain).
2008 Redbook price in VF20 is $8.00. Anybody want this for less than half that? $3.00.

Slightly larger picture
1837 Hard Times Token, "NOT ONE CENT", Liberty Head with motto.
HT-47, VF35 to XF40. Original woodgrain toning which looks almost blackish in the
scan, but is in fact dark brown in hand. You may find this toning appealing, or not.
I rather like it myself, and I think the majority would agree with me. $38.00 or best offer.

Slightly larger picture
German States (Prussia), 1/6 Thaler, 1773-E.
KM300 or similar, struck in Konigsberg, East Prussia. Obverse: Friedrich II. AG3+ to G4, which isn't
all that unusual on a 235-year-old coin. Struck in .521 fine silver with a bullion weight of .0895 oz.
Low grade but no problems aside from wear. Old, decent-sized, silver, and cheap. What more could
you ask for, for only $6.00? ***RESERVED***

Slightly larger picture
1928 "Bremen" Aviation Medal.
Celebrates the first east-to-west transatlantic flight in 1928, just a year after Lindbergh did
it from west to east. An interesting historical curiosity, this one. I would call it VF+ with some
slight digs noted in the obverse field (or what I consider the obverse side, due to the "heads").
Here is the history of the flight, and here is a mostly-ignored thread I posted about this piece.
To the right person, I suppose this has the potential to be a lot more valuable than my price,
but I don't know how rare or common it is (it can't be that common). I encountered only one other
example in cyberspace during my websearching about it. Perhaps it has eBay potential. I am
not too sure what the whitish flecks on the airplane side are - maybe paint, but I believe they
should come off easily enough with a little careful "acetone-and-toothpick" work. I didn't try my
hand at removing them. $14.00 or best offer. ***RESERVED***
