Breaking Holders

Ok I bought some cards from another grading service, and want to send them to PSA for grading from them... My question is what is the best way to submit, in the slabs, or break open and send.
If it is to break open, how is the easist way to break them open without damaging the cards?

Never cracked a Gem, but you are going to need the Oxy/Acy Torch on the BGS, they are like Fort Knox. Seriously those are always a challenge. Be creative, use a hacksaw to cut the end with the Flip and then gently pry until it pops apart with a butter knife.

You can use this method on both BGS too it takes about 15-20 seconds to crack them out and is very easy.
Break off one of the top corners by the label with tin snips, vise grips, or whatever you have, you can even smash the corner with a hammer if needed..
insert a flathead screwdriver and twist..you will then hear the welds crack..
work around the slab till you can get your fingers in and pull apart...
Prying/Dremel/etc. is overkill.

If you place the awl in the top middle part of the holder and strike it cleanly with a hammer, the holder will split down the middle.
Then place the awl in the bottom middle part of the holder, preferably inside an already made crack from the first strike, and repeat the process as above.
This method works on any holder from PSA to BGS to GEM.
We have used this method on over 500 cards and have never ruined a card.
I do suggest wearing protective eye gear though.
Not sure why this method works, but it does .... and very easily too.
Good luck no matter which method you choose.
