Does this seem weird to anyone?

Does it seem strange that this acution ended where it did when there are two cards of same grade and to my eye similar condition at more than half the cost.

I believe that is the purchasing ID for Dmitri Young's collection.

That would be correct. @#$()&!$!
• So is it the thrill of the hunt that gets Dmitri and Dave Bailey going? These are not PSA 10 cards, and surely if they are trying to buy up pops on certain cards, wouldnt they start with two PSA 9's in a store being sold for $449.00 and $450.00 respectively? They could have purchased both cards from Red Zone (Who keeps nice stuff by the way) and saved $180.00 in the process.

Are there no 10s for the Carter card??

I just wish he'd stop buying up all the 1975 Topps Yount 9's. He's bought the last 8 or 9 of them that have popped up on ebay.

Surprisingly, I was looking through the latest SMR and I actually saw that they raised the reported value of a 9 from $400 to $525.
• I didnt even pay attention to his buying up all the Yount PSA 9 cards. I am looking for a PSA 9 Yount and Brett, and can't believe what the Younts seem to be going for lately, but didnt even notice it was Dave Bailey winning those auctions. You rarely even see a Brett come up for auction anymore in PSA 9 grade.
• StingRay, There is currently just 1 PSA 10 on that Gary Carter card.

Thanks, this buying spree has Hunt Brothers written all over it??
• You never know

One day we'll be saying ... "I believe that is Dmitri Young's SELLING I.D."

Good chance that one day, he'll get bored (or poor), and start selling it all off
• crazy money for a $30 card lol.

to each their own.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all "right-thinking" people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

Yep...that's why I've stopped bidding on them. I do alright for myself, but I'm not going to outbid the buyer for a multi-millionaire on a mission.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PLAYING WITH FIRE, but the next time a 1975 Topps Robin Yount PSA 9 comes up, you could throw a winkle in Mr. Young's plan and throw in a $10,000.00 bid.

I wonder what the runner up was thinking? He too was willing to pay 2x what the store item is selling for.
