A Very Zep-like Day at The Shop(s)

I went into the shop by work at lunch time to pick up some 15 pocket sheets for the A&G minis and grabbed 4 loose packs of Goudey (the only Upper Deck set I am working on) and in the 4 packs were these:

This kind of surprised me...

On the way home, I thought, what the heck and stopped by the shop by my house and picked up 3 packs of Ginter and 2 packs of UD Heroes, to see what they look like. All the minis in the Ginter are bent and creased, but the '08 Heroes had this..

I really don't like these cards in the least, but I'll take it, shut up and like the card very much, thank you.

Not quite in the pantheon of Mike, but a worthy day.

The owner threw in the Boxtopper from a new box of Topps chrome (I wanted 12 packs)

Congratulations on the Jeter auto card - very nice.

I pulled one but gave it to a sick kid that was reported on the boards here a few years ago.

That's actually a good deal since, according to LSU, his wife is hotter than Matt's wife.

I agree with Matt, accept for the part about my wife not being hotter than his. The 103 yard kickoff return by Mr Jones on Monday night football was a nice little public notice of what he is capable of.

Let me get this straight, LSU, you get this card and I get two wives and two dogs? What's the upside for me (of course, I haven't seen your wife so it's not reflection on her, per se, just that it would be one more woman in my life that's disappointed in me).
