Pay raise...$$$ to bring to Reading Show

Just got a nice pay raise and I am planning on attending the Reading PA show in a few weeks.
It is good to be in the DC metro area and doing IT contracting with the feds. I am very lucky and
take nothing for granted. Man, I have worked my a** off this past few years.
I plan on bringing some serious $$$ to the show. I have been in the hobby long enough that
I won't be buying garbage. At least that is my goal !!! I better do this now since I am still single
and don't have a honey to nag on how much I should spend or put money away for kid(s)
education.
I have been waiting to buy an Aaron or Koufax rookie in the PSA 6-7 range. I am looking forward
to the show.

<< <i>I am going also. I haven't been to the Reading show, but I have been to the Fort Washington shows when they were held there. How is the show in Reading, is it comparable to the old Ft. Wash. shows? >>
Seemed the same to me, but im sure the change of venue lost a few old dealers and gained a few new ones.
and try to keep my mouth shut.
I have never been to the Reading Show and it is my very first trip to the area.
I am hoping to get out there Friday evening. The rest of the weekend dosen't look good as far as the shsow goes (PSU/Illinois is Saturday night)
<< <i>Glad to hear you are doing well. Be sure to take a piece with you to the show. I usually use a money belt also when carrying serious bucks. Can't wait for scans. >>
I am assuming that they have this in a seedy area?
Selling is not strong there, but yet i still set up and give it a try. At best, this is a fair show. Once again, better times are coming...
<< <i>This will be the 100th "Philly Show" and the last to be held in Reading. It will be back in the Ft. Washington area next year and closer to really being called the "Philly Show". Thus, better times are coming. Reading is tough town- depressed, seedy, and a bit remote to get there via Jersey, Northeast, and even Philly airport. Nevertheless, all the national dealers will be there and you will have a great chance of finding those big ticket items. Grading houses will also be there. Finding nice raw material is not recommended. Stick to mainstream resturants and overnight stays.

Good news. I have not made the trek out to Reading for the very reason that driving from New Jersey it is a 2-3 hour trip. If it returns to Ft. Washington (I am not sure why they did not try for the Valley Forge Convention Center) I will be all over the show again.
I have heard that Reading can be a tough town. I work in IT, but my background is in geography. Being
raised in SoCal, I have learned to appreciate the history and sites in the mid-atlantic area.
I may or may not get the cards I want, but the weekend will be fun.
Lee has been know to roll chumps who advertise the fact that they've just received hefty government contractual IT raises.
Don't tell Lee you're wearing the Donnie and Marie shirt.
