i need someone to explain starting up ebay and paypal with prepaid or gift card. in another name rather than myself. and may i transfer to checking when needed and have paypal card. thnx

You can be sued/prosecuted under that AKA, if you break a contract or tort
somebody. You could also, thus, be sued under your "other names;" including
your "real" name. A judgment against your alias, properly obtained, is also
a judgment against your "real" name, and could impact property you hold in
your "real" name.
On EBAY.........
Under their TOS, it is generally accepted that "Robert Smith," might have another
account registered to "Bob Smith."
You simply register using the pre-paid debit card in the name it is issued under,
and list the addy that the card-issuer has as your AKA's addy. (You need a new
email addy, too.)
You can open an online checking account at HUNDREDS of banks, using your EI#/SSN.
Once your PP account is open, such a checking account can send/receive funds to/from
PP. The addy on the CA and DC should be the same and will become your PP "confirmed addy."
You will need a new gophone ($30.00) to make the "new you" the best that it can be.

There is a way. It is detailed above.
There is NOTHING wrong with using a prepaid-card to register on EBAY.
They encourage it; especially with their new ban on paper-payments.
Sellers are being told to inform buyers about prepaid-cards, if such
buyers claim they cannot pay via PayPal because they have no credit card
or checking account.
WMT and greendot make BILLIONS on folks who have no checking accounts;
MOs and prepaids are HUGE BIZ.
