Poppage reports vs Spam?

In the past, I have been accused (unfairly in my mind) about soliciting onlookers to my auctions on this forum. Spam was the charge. Just out of curiousity, what's the difference between someone directing people's attentions to their auctions or website and the folks that are allowed to broadcast what was just recently graded? Isn't that a solicitation for sales more often than not? I've bought cards off of guys who posted their "poppage" on this forum. Just curious. Don't get me wrong, I like to see guys do well and get good grades. Just seems like a very fine line to me.

I used to like fine lines when I was younger. Now my addiction is just cards.
How would you do things differently?
Many of the guys who submit here are submitting for their collection are sharing their poppage results because it's fun for everybody. Kind of like a live pack rip. An offshoot of that can be that the cards are for sale, but the main reason most of us share our submission results is because most of us like seeing what others are submitting and the grades they're getting. At least that's how I see it.

For the record, an appropriate response to someone asking about pop reports of a Hank Aaron RC is not "I have one for sale on ebay right now" with a link to your auction. If you don't see the difference between this and someone sharing their submission results then I don't know what to tell you.
I do think there is more lee way to posters who are also an asset to the boards because they post pics, add to discussions, have fun on the boards, etc. IMO If all (not implying you but any poster) you do is come here to post auctions.......go away or at least to the bst.
I will say I see no offense in having a one liner with your auctions in your sig line.
