Rare Emmitt Smith Pro Line Portrait card?

I say rare because I have never seen another...a friend of mine owned a card shop and gave this to me and if anyone has some info about it, I'd appreciate it. I have read that Emmitt pulled these 'frown' cards because he wasn't pleased with them--the regular issue you see is him on the front in the same pose but smiling, like he is on the back of my card...

I doubt its rare, but the last Beckett shows this card as $15.00
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • Really? Well thanks for that info...

Actually it is rare but not worth more than $15.00

In the 1991 Pro Line Portraits set, Emmitt was to only have an auto card and not a base card. Emmitt and the company were not happy with the pic that was used on the card. So, he only signed some of the cards to be auto'd leaving many un-auto'd. This is the reason the Emmitt Smith 1991 Portraits auto card is listed as an "sp"

So really the non-auto card is an "sp" as well. In fact it should have the "authentic auto stamp" in the lower right corner too.

You're mixing up 1991 and 1992. The card with him smiling on the front is a 1992 issue. There is only one card used in the 1991 set.

I would be interested in buying this card from you

Turn your private messege option so we can talk more.

    Thanks
  • It actually doesn't have any marking on the bottom right hand corner on back of the card...and yes, I turned on my private messages feature...
