Patiently Waiting For The Flood Of PSA Graded 1971 Topps Baseball

Well, as many of you warned me before, it is getting tougher to complete my PSA 1971 Topps baseball set now that I am over the 65% mark. eBay has not been too kind to me recently. The maddening thing is that the large majority of cards that I need are low numbered commons. I am patiently waiting you guys for the "flood" of 71 cards you are all sending in under the current special. Keep me in mind when you do it!

Now that I have hit 65%, I am more determined than ever to get this set done once and for all. If you have any cards I need (I will take the "lowly 7s" because my set is PSA 7 or 8), drop me a note. You can see my set on the registry (Matt's Beautiful Birth Year Set, currently the 13th or 14th finest on the list).

  • Hey Matt,

I will be sending in 57 1971 Topps cards this week under the special. Based upon my past experience, they should all come back between PSA 7s and PSA 9s. I think the ones I selected should all come back at least PSA 8; however, you never know for sure. You will be on my list once I get my submission back.

Let me jump on this thread too. I have 1971 PSA 7's and 8's
available to trade if anyone ends up with extra cards from
their submission. I would be interested in PSA 8's and 9's.
    Thanks, Bill.

About 10 of them, I don't think anything real high dollar value though....

Just a plug for Nathan above (ndws). Last time he posted for a card, he was a serious buyer. Paid right away etc...One of the "new guys" here, but reliable.

I've been down to the last 6 cards to complete the set for a while now. Don't think I'll ever get there.

The last few cards for the set can be a bear. I remember looking for 6 months to 1 year to finish my set.

you are a lucky man to be able to complete your birth year set. I was going to do the same until I started checking out what it would take to complete a set in PSA 4 or 5. Guess you will all be able to guess my birth year. al.
