As I said I may be thinking of something else, Someone will probally chime in with more info for ya.
  • There is also another Topps / Nestle set.

This one had orange-yellow borders. A real nice set of 12 (I think) that had Cal Ripkin and Mike Schmidt.
  • the regular nestle set (792) is actually quite rare compared to 84 topps, know they made factory sets and distributed them some way or another in pack form, there was also uncut sheets that floated around . but a ryan for 15.50 in psa 9 seems like a deal to me . Nice set (odd ball) but nice. JMOimage

According to the '05 Standard Catalog: The 792 cards in the 1984 Nestle set are identical to the Topps regular issue except that the candy company's logo replaces the Topps logo in the upper-right corner of the front. The set was offered as a premium in uncut 132-card sheet form (24" x 48"). A few enterprising individuals bought up the majority of the reproted 4,000 set production and had the sheets cut into single cards. Due to the ease in handling individual cards, as opposed to large press sheets, sets of single cards sell for more than sheet sets.

    Complete set, sheets (6) $75
    Complete set, singles (792) $175
  • good info

    Thnx!

I bought the sheets back in '84. They came rolled in a tube. I hung them on my wall, and I don't know whatever happened to them.

PSA did grade them about 8 years ago. I have all the Schmidts graded by PSA from the set....
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Is this another "we don't" grade, then all of a sudden a large submitter pops up with a bunch on ebay and that sell for nice amounts because of the artificially created low pop? I'll shut up now...I got band last time I ventured into this territory

same thing happened with the purina (i.e. graded them and then stopped). were the purina's sheet cut?

    Thanks,

  • It's a sore subject for me. Lets just say, I had tons of one of ones, all or most hall of famers. Was denied grading more. Then a large submiter(fill in the biggest of PSA cards on ebay), had a chunk of them listed. My post name is what I submitted. No...I have never submitted a cut card, all my stuff was from two wax cases. All I want is complete my set in 10s(I was close)

  • AND...As always, if any of these "pop up" in PSA holders, help a brother out. I'd love to share my collection, but PSA won't let me post in the set reg(check the reg, I post pics of everything).

A true odd ball set, that I love. I wanna do it because me and my brother used to stuff crappy cerial down our throats every morning, and fight for the package at the bottom. I have to this day not sold any, despite being offered big bucks for the Ryan 10 that was one of one forever. Only to be undercut by a large vendor that submited after I was denied.

COLLECTING!!!! People, PSA, this what this is all about. Atleast allow me to complete my set.
