Consignment question

I am thinking of consigning an item to one of the large auction houses. It is a pre war card. I believe the item is worth between $1000 and $1300.

Is it worth consigning an item of that value to an auction house? I've tried selling the card privately through message boards (like PSA) with no luck. I thought about ebay, but my recent ebay sales have been ridiculously below my targeted sale prices (and the prices were not unreasonable). I was thinking an auction house might be worth a try.

Anyone suggest, given their past experiences, an auction house? I was thinking goodwin or sloate. Anyone have experiences with either of these two?

thanks in advance

What card is it? If it is Pre War, your best bet to try is the Net54 board. That is by far the best board on the internet for Pre War cards. Anytime I put a card up there it sells. REA is by far the best out there but I would suggest Luckey & Brockelman.
