Anybody here like Bill "King of the Commons" Henderson? He's sure helped me a few times.

Bill "King of the Commons" Henderson

He's sure helped me out a few times in the early 2000s with set upgrades and I'm once again enlisting his help for some late 70s (mostly 1977 and 1979) upgrades and if I'm really lucky, maybe he can make me a really sharp commons/semistars near set of 1971-73 Topps (since I'm getting all the HOFers/checklists graded PSA 7 there's no need to waste money on extra raw copies of key cards) as well.

I don't think I've ever heard a peep about him in this congregation but all the times I've bought from him he seems like a nice reputable guy. And apparently from his website it seems his REAL love is in classic cars. That hobby is a little too rich for my blood though...

I've bought from him many times over the last 10 or so years and he's always been a class act.

The grades he gives his raw cards are accurate, which is hard to find sometimes on e-Bay.
I bought this '48 trippi from him. Described as ex+ I think.

Again, I'm surprised in all my years here no one ever mentions him. Also, I wonder if he could make me a NRMT+ 1971, 1972, 1973 sets w/o the key cards so I can fill them in later with PSA 7's?

Of course he can make them. I'm sure that me and many others on this board can make them too, but are you going to pay what he asks for them? That is the question.

I Have been dealing with Bill since the early 80s and has helped me so many times. He grades accurately and trys to go out of his way for you.A true Top Shelf Guy.I have met him personally and one time I was short of money that I needed for a 1955 Bowman Berra and told me to take it home and just send him the difference though the mail but instead I gave back a few other cards which I was going to purchase from him instead so I would have enough to pay for the beautiful looking Berra Card.At that time I hated sending money through the mail and actually I still do.

Bill is one of the very few OLD SCHOOLER Dealers left in this Hobby.

  • Like warhound I have bought plenty of raw HOW from him, always a pleasure to trade with a real pro.
  • cards are accurately graded, but on two occasions he sent them in plain white envelopes. I emailed them about that and every time since they send them well packed in a bubble mailer.

I bought a Rod Carew 1967 Topps rookie from him a couple months ago. Nice guy. Polite negotiations, quick shipping, accurate grading, and good communication. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again if I see something I want.

I've talked to him at the last couple of Anaheim Nationals. Nice enough guy - I purchased a decent lot of low-grade vintage and got an additional discount beyond the already nice prices. Thumbs up from me.
  • Bill Henderson one of the best, great guy to deal with. image
  • Great seller. When I first started sending out "wantlists" back in the early 80's (I was about 12), I didn't know how to sort them out so I would just put down: Mickey Mantle 1952-1969 Ex-MT and so on and so forth to Bill. He would then painstakenly write out each year with the price, card number and condition (that was a lot to do since I put down pretty much the main HOF'ers like Aaron, Mays, etc). I've purchased many things from him.
