    OK, I Googled it:

Muscat and Oman (Arabic: ãÓÞØ æÚãÇä&yacuteimage was a country that encompassed the present day Sultanate of Oman and parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It existed from about 1856 until about 1970

AH1390 is the date going by the Islamic calendar. According to Krause, it ran from March, 1970 to February 1971. So right at the end of Muscat & Oman.

    Nice coin! image
    "Have a nice day!"
  • Nice toning!
Mintage was 4.5 million, worth about $1 depending on amount of collector demand.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info, a must-have for a Darkside collector.

The country still exists today, as the Sultanate of Oman. Muscat is the name of the capital city.

Unlike a lot of moderns this one isn't extremely tough in unc. People tend
to save a lot more copper and a lot more of the smaller denominations. The
larger cu/ ni coins are very infrequently seen.

It should be noted that this coin is only "easy" relative current demand and
any real demand would swamp the supply fairly quickly.
