75 Brett / Yount Cello on ebay

There is a ebay auction for a cello pack with Brett on the Front and Yount on the back. Pretty cool and not very common, I would imagine. I'm don't have any idea who the seller is and am not accusing them of anything. In fact, they may be being short changed with the labeling. Why wouldn't GAI have also noted that there was a Yount on the back on the label? Most people with a fair amount of card knowledge would see the significance in that, so it's a little odd to me that a card authenticator wouldn't note it.

You will also see that the label is for mini cello yet the cards are reg sized- not too sure what to make of that. i wanted to look up the card, but the pics don't show the number. This is definately a pack that should be crossed over to PSA. I wish I had the $ to take a crack at it.

    The seller should have had the flip fixed, before he tried to sell it.

    I agree with having the flip fixed but I certainly wouldn't take the chance of sending it to GAI. Seems to be a legit item with a simple labeling error by GAI. Assuming it is legit, there can't be too many of them out there.

    An impressive pack, but I'm always wary of cellos with such high profile stars on both front and back, as word at one point was that some of these star packs that GAI slabbed were questionable. I'd rather buy a lower profile pack and a PSA graded Brett and/or Yount. JMO.


    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

    I believe the gum is in the middle, but I just don't buy that the pack is legit.

    I have Zero confidence in GAI graded cello packs.

    Same here. I don't have any faith in GAI graded cello packs. IF legit, that is one heck of a pack. I would be in the bidding to own it if PSA had done the authentication.

    Were 1975 Topps packs consistently sequenced like other years were? If so, can anyone verify that a Brett-top/Yount-Bottom makes sense?

    1975 Topps cards were definitely sequenced, but the sequence was often broken more than once in the same pack, so it's impossible to say with certainty.

    The gum is in the middle of the pack.

    As a baseball-card collector and as the world's biggest fan of George Brett, I can tell you that I'd much rather own a PSA 9 Brett rookie than this Brett/Yount cello. In fact, I do own a beautifully-centered PSA 9 Brett rookie that I won on eBay for about 525 bucks. It blows my mind that someone would pay that much for an unopened cello when:
    * You can't see the front of the Brett card very well
    * You can't see any of the back of the Brett card
    * You can't see any of the front of the Yount card
    * You can't see the back of the Yount card very well

    Truly bizarre to me.

    That's it. There are many Brett 9's out there. There aren't many cellos like that. I would assume it's harder to get that cello then
    get a 9 rookie. I would only buy that pack to compliment my 9 rookie, but not to replace it.

    Wow. What a nice piece of cello pack to own and I hop it is legit.

    The sale price seems fair.
