104 straight matches now, without losing ONE set, UNBELIEVABLE!!

Go Kristy and Kerri!

How about that Phelps guy? Or what do you think about the Chinese girl Lipsync'r at opening ceremony? Or any other OLympic News?
How do you like these Olympics to past ones?

Beach volleyball is a made for TV Olympic event. Not to take anything away from MMT and KW, and I as much as any man surely don't mind watching Amazon women play sports while wearing butt floss, but I find the actual game itself quite boring. Rarely any rallies, just serve, set, return, smash. The streak is impressive, but it doesn't impress me as much as say, Edwin Moses winning 122 consecutive finals from 1977 to 1987. Think about it. The guy didn't lose a race for 10 straight years!

Phelps is a machine, plain and simple. The Secretariat of swimming. The guy must have a freaky cardio-vascular system. Big Red did. Two minutes after a race Phelps is not even breathing hard.

I'm still waiting for some athlete to step up to the plate and go to the medal stand with a Tibetan flag or a "Free Tibet" pin, button, headband, or t-shirt.

I agree to some extent, but having played 2 man several times myself, you learn to appreciate it a LOT more when watching it. The indoor 6 man games may be more appealing to many for the longer volleys. To me, swimming is a LOT more boring to watch, even though that Phelps guy is AMAZING.
  • i much prefer team volleyball; way more exciting, more rallies.
Misty May and Walsh are pretty unstoppable; give em the gold now.
  • Nice looking cards!

Does the wife realize the REAL motives behind watching the gymnastics, Fred? image

The gymnastics have been very interesting to watch. I thought there was pressure in professional sports, but that is NOTHING compared
to the women's events where one slip can cost you 4 or even 8 years of preparation. Did anyone see the interview with the girl
who messed up a few nights ago? More intense than anything in football or baseball.

Men's USA volleyball team went out and laid an egg, but the women's team is just DOMINANT. Am I the only one who thinks its unfail that
swimmers can win like 10 medals and everyone else one or two?

I don't like all the TV time given to swimming qualifiers, but I have to say that mens 4x100 relay was one for the ages!

  • They said the USA / China basketball game was the most watched basketball game of all time - pretty crazy when you think about it!
