...seriously though, that's awesome. I love blowout games, more so because that's when managers start doing crazy things like letter position players pitch.
Is that Jose Canseco I see trotting to the mound? Oh wait, right player, right team too, but about 15 years too late.
In 1894 the Boston Beaneaters scored 16 runs in the first inning against their rivals Baltimore Orioles. The Beaneaters went on to win the game ... 16-0.

And on Aug 3, 1989, The Cincinnati Reds scored 14 runs in the first inning against the St. Louis Cardinals. Final score was 18-2.
Didn't the Brooklyn Dodgers score like 15 runs in the first inning? I got to check that out. I thought I saw it some where or heard it from Vin Scully during a telecast.
16-15; Sox just scored on a throwing error. This game has had everything! Insane!
BTW Sox scored 14 runs in the 1st inning against Florida in 2003 at Fenway. I was at the game; Damon had 3 hits in the first inning if I remember right.

Try being an Indians fan this year....they are just as bad....can't tell you how many times I've seen them blow leads in the late innings....they tried to the last two days but Baltimore relievers are almost as bad...

That's very impressive. But give me a call when you hit two (2) grand slams in the same inning.

funny thing though no lead is save at Fenway, looks like Texas has a threat going in the top of the 2nd.
Last question, is 10 runs a record for the first inning??? anyone know.
