Question from the Other Side of Collectors Universe

Hey Sports Mem Guys, How's it? I'm from the US Coin forum, but since we're all one universe... I'm hoping one of you has some clue as to what this Jets piece is I found in a small box of coins I bought earlier today. It's a NY Jets badge or shield of some sort. It's not a pin nor does it look like it ever attached to anything. It seems to be made out of copper or bronze with the white and green painted on in some sort of enamel. It measures about 1"x1". Ever seen one of these? More curious than anything. Cheers!

Now why would it have to be stale! I'm just going to go ahead and make this the Official 1 of 1 Junior Jets Badge. Came with a Junior Jets membership in 1962. And that is 100% made up.
