J, slamming Jesus like that is completely uncalled for and tasteless. I am a bit surprised that you would stoop so low. Jesus Christ is beyond reproach and deserves respect regardless of personal beliefs. If ever a perfect man walked the earth, it was Him.
<< <i>bobby, I'm pretty sure that julen was slamming George Bush; not Jesus. >>
I sure hope so. The appropriate phrasing would have been Jesus followed by a comma if that was the intent. Of course, it is impossible to tell sometimes in this format. J and I have a good history so I really hope you are correct here...you probably are.

Bobby,
I initially took it the way you took it as well. I was surprised at the statement, but now I can see how I may have misinterpreted it as well. Not the greatest choice of words for the context.
You guys want to hear something odd? So I was flipping through the August 15, 2008 issue of Entertainment magazine. In their News, Monitor and Notes section on page 20, it states:
...Comedian Bernie Mac, 50, was hospitalized in Chicago for pneumonia. "Mr. Mac is responding well to treatment," said his rep in a statement.
Now, I don't know who "Mr. Mac's" representative is or even when the statement was made, but that seems odd to me. Or perhaps, maybe it is not so odd and it is just Hollywood speak, assuming there is such a thing.
RIP Mr. Mac. I always enjoyed his work on television and film.
He seems to have been having health problems for some time, and pneumonia is usually not a killer. Looks like his immune system may have been comprimised by other underlying factors.

Friday morning CNN and several other news outlets were reporting he was responding very well to the treatment and was on a road to full recovery.

Sorry Julen, if I misunderstood. I am sensitive when it comes to Jesus, I suppose.
In any case, I feel bad about Mr. McCullough. He died far too soon.
