Another deadbeat seller. willislanegallery Won auction, won't send card !!

Well here's a good one. I won and paid for auction July 21. All i get from this guy is that he hasn't gotten around to going to the post office to ship the card. Items he sold after this transaction people are leaving feedback so i know he's full off it. Card did not sell for what he wanted so he does not want to send me the card. He's waiting for me to so mad i'll file a paypal claim and just leave him his negative. Yes i have reported him to e-bay. Ebay states he's done nothing wrong ???????????????????? He won't send the card, that's what's wrong ??
So stay away from this guy ebay user id: willislanegallery

This is what he keeps copying and pasting and sending to my e-mails.

Dear ezyshooter1,

Steve, I will be back on Thursday and will probably get it out on Friday, I apologize for the delay.

How about some help here from the PSA members, send this guy a line or 2 asking him if he's going to send this Gretzky to me or not ?
Or just come up with something original on your own.
Anyways here's the link !!

Auction i won

Thx Steve

I'd give him 1 more week from the last email. It has only been 2 weeks and that may be why ebay told you he has
done nothing wrong. Having members here harrass the guy may not be the wisest thing to do. (at this time anyway)

    Good for you.

His feedback says he has a habit of shipping slow or not at all, and that it's never his fault.

You're probably lucky to just get the $ back and move on.

The card kind of has a funky cut anyway, you might have been disappointed if you had sent it to a legit grading company.

97.9%. I never would've spent that much with this seller.

The seller has some history of slow shipping.

Nobody can force a seller to deliver an item he simply refuses to deliver.

On the off-chance that he is acting in good faith, it is best to leave him
    alone for a bit.

He has missed his Seller-Protection window of 7-days. That could mean
he has no intention of performing. Or, as he has done in the past, he
    could ship anytime.

    Yikes what a sleazebag seller.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • Filed my paypal claim today. Shouldn't have a problem getting my money back. I feel like buying everything he has listed on e-bay and sending him the same message back in his face. I'll pay you Thursday or Friday. I haven't had a chance to make it to my bank. Sometimes i don't go to my bank for 6 months so maybe i'll pay you then !!

  • did you notice the seller only has left about 6 recent feedbacks for his auctions then there is a big 2 year gap.

That was a pretty rapid NEG.

NEGd sellers lack ANY incentive to perform.

  • Anytime a seller takes over 2 weeks to ship 1 card deserves to get a negative. Remember he hasn't shipped it. Different story if he shipped the card and is taking over 2 weeks.
Look at his recent feedback. Items sold after i paid for this auction people recieved. So obviously he can make it to the post office. So why the heck isn't the card going with him to the post office when he is sending these other items ?????
Buy a 500.00+ card off me and let me hold onto the money for over 2 weeks before i decide if i'm going to send you the card or not. See if you would be pissed.
I understand things come up from time to time. But over 2 weeks ??? NOT !!

  • The neg should not have been left until AFTER you get your refund. There are still alot of things a crooked seller could do to throw a monkey into your refund leaving the early neg can make him more likely to do so. The 7 day thing does not play any role in Paypals decision. I won a dispute on an item that was sent 12 days after payment once(package fell behind my desk.)

If you are planning on buying a bunch of his items without the intention of paying you are the one who will end up getting suspended from Ebay.

Now he says he is sending it this weekend.

I would have waited to neg him myself.

Sucks that you are getting jerked around...but I think you should have passed on the card in the first place (just my opinion of course) as it looks trimmed.

Looks like this seller has a potpourri of collectible items that he is selling or has sold in the past .... books, sportscards, kitchen faucets, train sets, comic books, hockey equipment, videos, and PlayStation games to name a few.

I doubt if he's holding your card because he thought the price was too low; he's most likely not a card collector per se, just a seller of collectibles.

As others have already mentioned, this guy just ships slow ... whenever he gets around to it.

You'll probably get your card as promised, though maybe a refund would be better (if the card isn't all that).

I agree with the others. You should have looked at his feedback more and took that into account. Meaning, not have bidded as much likely, and understand, you had a 3-4% chance of not being happy. There are pluses and minus from these mid 90 % feedbacks. A normal eBay $10 card would likely go for $1-3. I will often take that $1-2 chance on the normal $10 card and roll with it. Of course every now and then it does come out, but I am kind of playing the odds, which is how you should have looked at that auction.

Having said that, I am really glad you are not a big seller/buyer on eBay. I purchased about 160 items on eBay this last month and sold about 250. I will do you guys a favor and not start a complaining thread about every bad.
