The Yankees baseball looks like it has a thin layer of shellack , which is going to hurt the final I would guess .
Don't know what year that was signed because Mantle Got to the Yanks in 51 Joe D retired after 51 and Maris didn't get to the Yanks until 1960, so that baseball confounds me a bit .
Also in 51 Mantles signature was nothing like that, not thing like that at all, that is one of his later sigs .
My best guess is maybe they were at some kind of Yankees function and had it signed , maybe a Yankees greats dinner or something .
If that guy thinks he's getting 10 K for that baseball , he's smoking crack rocks .
Looks like this seller is definitely leaving some money on the table, based on a few of his past auctions, by not having his items graded.
I think Storm hit the nail on the head saying that this guy is ignorant (especially in the auction-creating department).
He might be too cheap to want to spend the money to have the balls graded (not realizing that he'd recoup that money and much more if he would send them in).
I know a major sports memorabilia store owner that also sells raw vintage cards, but will not have any of them graded, though I have told him repeatedly that he could make so much more money for them if they were graded. He says he doesn't like the idea of the cards leaving his store.
Yea, he's probably leaving about 4-5 hundred on the table with the Yankee baseball .
The Dean Ball is personalized , I don't know much about those values , I do know they're not as wanted as if it wasn't , that is unless the buyer has the same name , then it is a true treasure , something they might pay a nice penny for . . . but the conditions would have to be perfect, along the lines of all the planets and the stars lining in a row .
<< <i>Can he say PSA/DNA in the auctions title if the ball has not been authenticated by them? >>
He shouldn't, but he's not trying to scam per se...it's clear in the auction that all he got is a QO. Not worth messing with IMHO. >>
Just sucks that ebay enforces this rule randomly... Neil got hit this week for much less than what this guy has done - QO does not mean the item will pass.

I don't like his shady reference to the QO as a "COA," but he might
just be ignorant. Or, maybe he's just pretending to be ignorant.
He knew enough to use PSA in the title.
As long as the buyer is covered by PayPal and a credit card, I think there
is no risk.
And, again, the sigs look pretty correct, BUT not very "pretty."
I especially don't like the Mantle.
The listings look so bad that the balls might go fairly low.
The QO is about the only real bright spot.
They look like the real deal to me ,
