Bubble mailer Prices rising

Just in case nobody has bought bubble mailers in a while the prices at places like Wal-Mart and such have nearly doubled in the past couple of weeks. I was able to buy 5 of the 8X11 mailers for 80 cents each at Wal-Mart now they are 1.44 each. the 6X9s are up to 90 cents each from 62 cents a few weeks ago. I buy the 4X6s in bulk online so I rarely order them and have not seen the recent prices.

This will soon cause many sellers to have to raise shipping on items.

Buying bubbles at Wal Mart and K Mart is asking for higher prices. I usually buy them 250 at a time, even with the shipping cost to get here, they are still more than half of the chain stores
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • I was in Staples yesterday and the bulk packs were more than going to Wal-Mart and buying them per piece. I think it broke down to 91 cents on the 6X9s.

What I am saying is that Wal-Mart usually bases their prices on what it will cost them to reorder from their supplier. That tells me that their supplier has told them the new prices when they reorder will be X.XX this may be 3 or 4 months away. Sooner or later it is going to trickle into the bulk suppliers.

As I said I buy 4X6s in bulk, but the other sizes I don't use as often. I can buy 300 count card boxes for 25 cents each and use them. The shipping costs it about the same so I buy them in bulk as well.

i get em from altusmarket too barry- have for years-they are quick and cheap
  • Rube, I figured you made your own bubble mailers out of napalm and sheep skin.....
  • OfficeDepot here in RI has Size 0 bubble mailers @ 12 for 2.99 and they drop to 2.50 if you buy at least 8 packages of them. It's some promotional rate they have going so I don't know how long it will last, so I just loaded up. Ends up being .20 cents a piece. They were costing me .18 cents in bulk (500), so this was just as easy and I didn't have to shell out $90 on bubble mailers up front.
