Comicon is completely nuts - contest! - WINNER - BobaFett72

Some of you may know that I work for a movie company, and as such, I had to spend the last 5 days in San Diego at Comicon. First of all, 120,000 people who like Star Wars in one place is generally a bad idea (and I like Star Wars). People here are crazy - climbing over each other to get free stuff that is sure to be worth nothing. I'm sure Leiacards can explain to me what some of these exclusive Action Figures go for, but I would never stand in line for 6 hours to get them. Heck, the bathroom was usually a 20 minute line! The good news is I'm playing golf at Torrey Pines (south) tomorrow. I've never played a US Open course so close to the Open, but I've played there before. So, I was trying to think of a fun thing to give away from my stay down here and Donruss was here giving away exclusive Americana Series II promo card series. Here's the contest...for 4 exclusive Comicon Donruss cards and maybe another goodie or two that was given to me while here...name the top three costumes that I saw while here and since I'm sure some of you will get all three, the tiebreaker is what will I shoot at Torrey tomorrow? FYI: I'm a 13 handicap and I shot 80 at a local city course last Sunday but shot 92 at Torrey last summer. I also shot 94 the last time I played Bethpage Black. My goal is to shoot 86 or better, and I will attempt not to try any hero shots - bogeys are good. We're playing from the furthest back tees allowable and I count every shot - no mulligans. Good luck!

    Funny that you mentioned the overweight guys..but even worse are the overweight Wonder Woman's...unreal! Just a note - I only saw one, so this isn't one of the answers, but I saw one dude who was a perfect Cylon from the original Battlestar Galactica walk by our booth being followed by at least 20 people wanting to take pictures with him...that thing must have cost well over $500...WHY?!?!?!?

    I only saw 2 Rubes (and both were pissed off when I asked for pictures with them!), but no Emmit Smith jerseys. Here's a hint, there has been a full correct answer guessed (perhaps more than one. I just skipped around), minus the golf score obviously - that happens tomorrow.

    My wife and daughter were 2 of those "crazies". I went last year, but I elected not to go this year after witnessing what you just mentioned....too much drama and crowds. I had fun, but something I can go without for a few more years...

    I don't know who the good costumes were, but heres a few my wife took pictures of...

    p.s. a real good cylon or stormtrooper et. al costume will run you $400-500, a movie quality one with all the bells and whistles maybe $1000.

    Playing from the tips. Thats going to be interesting,very long and tough! I'am a 9 handicap and played there a few years ago. Played very well and shot a 93 from the blacks. It was the longest course I ever played. Have fun on those 500 yard par fours. Good luck!

    Well, I figured I'd get 9-10 of you with this answer, but BobaFett72 had it right. I'm sure due to the recent movie, there were TONS of Jokers and a bunch of Batman guys. Combine those with the obvious Stormtrooper weirdos and you have the correct answer. Boba, PM me your address. I may not ship your cards until tomorrow when I've unpacked. And for those interested, I played the worst golf that I possibly could. Was in 9 traps, every time my ball was 3 feet off the fairway it was buried...and I shot 99 - UGH - what a waste of money. I don't know how you don't lose any balls, make a birdie (2nd hole) and shoot 99. That place has me spooked. It'll be a long time before I get up the stones to test myself against that beast again.

    I've never won a sports Mem. contest image before....

    Stormtroopers are infinitely popular (in all incarnations: Biker scout, snow trooper, clone trooper, shadow trooper etc.)
    and no one is more popular right now than batman and joker! image
