1993 Finest REF question

I know this has been brought up numerous times but I found a 1993 Finest card in a box of random junk that looks like a REF but I do not know the difference. I was out of the hobby in 1993. How the H-E-double hockey sticks do you tell the difference?

The refractor should be a lot brighter. When you tilt it towards the light, you should also see lots of vibrant color & rainbow effect.

  • does it also say refractor on the back like some of the later years?

Heck the basketball from 93 was tough to tell between the refractor and regular cards.
  • OK I can simplify this question, maybe, did any of the 1993 Finest REF's have a green front?

No, but I think that some of the prototypes might have, though not positive on that??

A third of the set was All Stars and had a green front while the rest were silver. All were made into refractors as well. If you hold a stack of them together in the light you can easily tell which if you have any refractors.
  • The one I found was in a box of junk that actually had some minty looking 70's commons with a bunch of junk hockey, football and basketball, oh yeah and some country music superstar cards.

Poker is only for people with severe gambling problems. It's also rigged so you lose.
  • I have known that for about 6 years now but still I continue

So your saying I shouldn't cash in my 401K and enter some world series of poker events? Jamie Gold made it look so easy.

I've traded emails with Josh a few times over the past several months. He's who I got my Butler 9 from. He's doing good.

Yeah, those were the all-star cards, and they also came in refractor. ebay
