    Nice congrats!

Best wishes to him and his team for some good games.
  • I did but mine was a little skewed. My son is 9 and dominated the 9 yr old division as a pitcher. The All Star competition however, was mostly 10 yr olds. For those that have not got to watch little league ball at this age, there is a huge difference between the skilled 9 yr olds and skilled 10 yr olds.

My son plays for Cranston Western Little League in Rhode Island. Our league has won the states 5 out of the last 7 years and won the 1996 USA Title. Maybe we will see you at Bristol image

    Very nice. Congrats.
My 7 year old is into sports but has only played organized soccer. About a month ago, without any intervention he comes out and says "I really wanna play baseball next year". I can't wait until next year!

Wow big kid Tony! If he doesnt play baseball I am sure there is an offensive line position open somewhere, Im sure the Dolphins are looking. Congrats and remember its about the kids!

FYI my son has the athletic ability of a turtle, but I always support him and he tries.
  • My son is already a better athlete than me and I went to college on an athletic scholarship. If I can just get him off Guitar Hero.

That's awesome! The farthest I ever made it in little league was the semifinals of the county tournament back when I played majors (10-12). When I played seniors (15-17), we lost in pool play of the county tournament. My younger cousin just got knocked out of the Florida State tournament a few days ago. They went 2-2 though, so they put up a good effort.
  • My team always blew, we revolved around the idea that it is not how you play, but how you looked and let me tell you we looked pretty damn good

Our teams were always the coaches sons, not the best players in the league. Needless to say our all stars always sucked.

My son's team won the winner's bracket final last night 7-1. Our next game is the championship on Thursday; someone now has to beat us twice. If we win, we're off to the regionals in Bristol, CT.

We're going into our final game today; our record is 1-2. We lost to CT on Monday 4-0 and we beat Maine yesterday 13-1. My son is 5-9 through the three games with two home runs and 7 RBIs. If we beat NH today, we will advance to the semifinals. If we lose, we're going home. If anyone is interested and has NESN, our game today will be televised on NESN at 11 AM EST.

CWLL's run is over--we lost to NH 7-4 on Wednesday to finish with a 1-3 record, not good enough to advance to the semifinals. My son ended the regionals 5-11 with 2 HR and 7 RBIs (the most RBIs of anyone on the team). He also pitched 2/3 of the bottom of the 5th performing mop-up duty; he faced two batters and got one to fly out and the other to ground out. Overall, it was a great experience for him.

Before he had left for Bristol, CT, I told him that he could bust a box of Allen and Ginter if he hit 2 HRs or got 6 hits. He ripped his box yesterday and pulled an Ichiro jersey, a Clay Buchholz auto, and a Dan Uggla Rip Card #/75; not a bad box at all image

It's all good Tony , I know the boys had fun though and what an experience it must have been for you all .

I make similar deals with my son as well with the hits and homeruns, although he is not strong enough to get it over the fence yet, but we practice almost every single day .

I know the boys were probably a little upset they didn't win though .

Great post , I enjoyed reading about your experience too , thank you for sharing .
