The Handy-Dandy, Lemme See Your Refractors Thread

I like modern shiny stuff. To me, refractors are cards on steroids, all juiced up, just for show. I like 'em. Last night and early this morning, I was scanning a bunch of cards for my sets and decided it would be cool to have a thread just for refractors. So far I have only done my Emmitt refractors. Here they are

<< <i>I like all of them except the Cardinals ones. What was Emmitt thinking? >>
I don't blame him. People want to go out on their own terms. Why not make a few bucks in the process as well.

<< <i>Ya well at least we signed him for a 1 day contract so he would retire a Cowboy so I am satisfied but if he had retired a cardinal then I would have been really upset >>
I agree with that

I really like those '96 Select mirrors. I have the blue and red thanks to Mark (GoSteelers) but have yet to land the gold. Some guy offered me a gold a few months back but he wanted my firstborn child as well.
Nice cards guys!

<< <i>That Johan Santana refractor reminds me of when that set was white hot in 2000 because Finest numbered their RCs for the first time. A guy named Rick Asadoorian was the big pull and sold for around $100 for the base card. Wonder whatever happened to him. >>
That's why i don't usually buy any prospects...i usually wait til they have at least a few good years under their buckle, but have been making a few exceptions lately, if they are cheap enough.
Russ martin's I think are a great deal right now at around $30 for his blue refractor #/150.

I lucked out on getting the gold because I found a BIN right after it was listed. The guy wanted high book value for it-which was great since it was one of those rare cases where "book value" wasn't close. Good luck on finding one...although you should have enough kids by now that I might make that trade.
I really love some of those late 90's finest refractors-especially the embossed ones.

Some designs obviously work better than others and, for football, I always thought the 2000 Topps Chrome cards were stunning with the refractor film addition. Great idea for a thread, LMM.
