how do you clean an old baseball or do you?

I just read the topic on how do you clean a baseball glove and found it very interesting. My question is, is there any way you can clean an old baseball that is somewhere in the early to mid 30's with about 10 Yankee signatures including Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The ball is kinda muddy, thanks Dennis.

Use some Folex, it should take the ink right out

First get it looked at by someone like PSA/DNA and see what they have to recommend.

I prefer my balls dipped in spring water.

  • I have had similar experiences in live chat...seems the helpdesk don't have a mind, and all they can do is point you to links...like talking to a robot.
I do get better results from their 1800 support. Do they give those numbers out to everyone? I have a few accounts, and each one of them got an email telling me how special i am, and that they are giving me a 1800 support line...i am curious if they give that out to everyone?

I don't know if metalmike's link was the same subject as mine, or not.

I just threw a random one in because his was removed.

actually- I think one of the 10 buck a hour guys tried to block it but it is still there. Spring water is the only way to properly get the grime off balls. Old school dudes used to use shellac to protect sigs but long term it will destroy the sigs. Ebay knows Titanic don't ya think? Buy gold water purifiers and cheese omlettes. image
