Hamilton question?

Has anybody made $500 on a BGS 9.5 Bowman Chrome Josh Hamilton in the last few days?

Comments

  • Yes the guy with the padres logo I believe, I forget his name
  • I know I bought two 1999 Bowman Chrome PSA 9's at the begining of the season for about $30 total. Saw a few BIN's that were bought last night in the $70 range.
  • Well, since I have already been made fun of for posting it 3 times in the 20+ threads on Hamilton that I did not start, I might as well post it
    again...

    Yea, it was me.
I decided to buy the card below right AFTER someone said that it was time to sell, not buy.
I bought it for $500 including overnight shipping, wanting to ensure I had it for the HR derby and all-star game.
Then after I bought it, I started the thread asking if cards can spike in the HR Derby or ALL-STAR game.
Posted the card before the HR Derby started, with a $795 opening bid or BIN for $995.

Before Josh was even finished with his 1st round, i had two offers and then the BIN hit.
I think if I had $2k BIN it may have hit too with all the excitement.

Happy for Josh, and Happy for Me.
Well, I only owned it for a day, as it just went out in the mail, as I have already got my paypal.

  • Nothing wrong with taking advantage of a good opportunity. BTW, nice edit as usual.
  • Nice arbitrage!
  • Blast! I will never get a Hamilton rookie card for a decent price any more. LSU im guessing the ones you were going to sell for me for a good price you sold on eBay last night huh? I don't blame you, it was Hamilton's fault for displaying his talents for more than just Ranger fans last night. Good for him, bad for me

  • << <i>Nice arbitrage! >>

Nice word...i had to look it up...that doesn't happen often (LOL)

arbitrage - a kind of hedged investment meant to capture slight differences in price; when there is a difference in the price of something on two different markets the arbitrageur simultaneously buys at the lower price and sells at the higher price

I would bet you can pick up most of his more common rookies for less than half what they are today before the end of the season.
But, then again, I thought the same about Utley's rookie auto...they have come down, but not to where they were 6 months ago.
