Trimmed?

The upper right border does not look right but I'm far from an expert on this.

    I Vote.........

    not trimmed.

I don't much like the chipped blue, though.

The top does look ALOT nicer than the bottom.

So this was maybe a 5 and now it's a 6? Why would anyone bother to increase the value of a card by $10?

It looks fine to me by the way.

I agree with Storm. I have a bunch of 1963's and the bottoms with the chips seem to take away from the beauty of the card. Still a nice card.

  • if they were going to trim it, they should have started on the bottom...

I would say trimmed. The upper right/lower left both look clipped to me and the "opposite corner" pattern is one I see a whole lot. I'd love to see the back, which is generally more telling. That said, I see a quite a few in PSA slabs too - so factory is not out of the question - though there is less than 100% of a standard card there - would have to be grading error rather than policy IMHO.

I have a lot cards just like that. The cards were stored upright with other cards and stuff piled on top of them so that the two corners on top wore but the other two corners didn't wear as much. That card is not trimmed.

Not trimmed... have seen a ton of '63s like this. Why waste time trimming when a color job is what it neededimage

There are so many trimmed cards floating around in holders out there...but this is not one of them.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • I think it's the "illusion" of the slab. If you notice, the upper left side is off of the little holdy thing and the upper right side is right up against it. In my experience, this can give the illusion of a "wavy" border. It doesn't look trimmed to me regardless of my David Copperfield explanation above, lol.
