I dare everyone

I dare everyone to go one day without mentioning Ebay on this forum. Let's get back to talking about what we love, and I think we can all agree that collecting cards and learning about cards or seeing other peoples great cards is why we all look at these boards. So lets see if we can do it.

While the snarky threads about stupid e**y sellers etc. gets kind of old, I think it's a bit unrealistic to not mention the biggest place that anyone buys cards. Was starting threads about morons that don't know how to list what you meant? I can only assume so.

Exactly. Who cares about smallest picture or high shipping costs. We all know they exist.

Yes eBay seems to be going in the wrong direction and yes they do have fees, but that's part of life. If you have your own domain it takes lots of effort, not to mention money spent to drive traffic to a web site. Sorry if I affend anyone, but I've had a bad day, so I must do this insane post. imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

I'm confused. What card am I bidding on in this auction?

I see what you're saying Chris and can appreciate it. Everything in moderation. An occasional ebay thread is fine, just not 10 per day as there sometimes is.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Mikeschmidt, read my post above where I rip on myself for having the ebay store in my sig line.

I would love to see CU take one of the seldom-used forums they have and just change the title to All Things eBay/PayPal. It certainly seems that the eBay/PayPal threads come up often enough and are pertinent enough to all collectibles that they could use their own forum here. Certainly, it would be more useful than the Rare Records forum which currently has... hold on, let me count 'em... uh... yeah, two threads.

That would be a great idea, but when you consider that quite a few posts are made on this forum that belong on the Sports Talk forum, there's no saying anyone would change their practices.
