Anyone see the glossy 1971's Topps Vault has been auctioning?

Unlike most of the other cards offered by Topps Vault, these are completed cards, (front and back printing) NOT blank-back proof cards. BUT, they have a glossy surface, maybe a precursor to the Tiffany cards that became standard some 13 years later. So far, based on the completed auctions, it looks like Topps tested this glossy coating process on a 7th series sheet only. I'm surprised to see a fair amount of these have sold for the opening bid. The Baylor/Baker/someone-else rookie is currently at $41.

    Wow, imagine if Topps had followed through and make a 1971 Tiffany set!! I mean, the 1971 set is a classic in of itself but...

    Unlikely.

    Psa very well may grade these seeing they come from topps vault. I'd ask Joe

    I'll say no PSA won't since they did not grade my 74' and 75' topps glossy from the vault...

    Topps Vault is now sending to BVG for grading??? Are you image kidding me??

    It seems like they are using BGS/BVG for slabbing, not actualy grading (haven't seen one of their graded cards yet).

    I have seen Fleer cards released unfinished in PSA slabs, but they say archives(something like that)
