Sure, give me a moment, curious, why do you ask? >>
I have a 200 card lot of mostly 1965-69 and should grade about the same (7-8 range). Im sending them in this week. Im just trying to compare to what I have. (Its been a while since I sent cards in) I love that card though. The 69 and 70 bench cards are awesome!
The Bench is not tilted in the holder, it's the card that has issues. You'll see the sides square up nicely, but not the not the top and bottom on the right side of the card. Yes OTW I have been playing with my etch a sketch again.

The card was tilted in the holder. In addition, there is a slight tilt to the print on the card. INRE your "sketch lines", If you look where there is a gap on the bottom, it higher on the top.
Please try your lines on this, now that I tapped the case so that the card is more square in holder, and see if it looks a little more square?
Also, what program or how do you make those lines?
IMO yes it could still get an 8 as the cut came from the factory and PSA does not deduct for the way a card is cut as long as it will fit into a holder.
I could be wrong but that is my opinion.
My standard would be a lil different though and that card would be near mint at best.
no, i just looked at the card, and saw it was crooked in the holder... if you look at the very first scan in the thread you can see that. I tapped the case and settled it straight in the holder.
Growing up in Oklahoma, turquoise was readily abundant. I saw plenty of it. (70s and 80s). Never really cared for it myself, but to each his own. Johnny Bench is the best either way.
<< <i>So what are we saying here? Is the card square or is is miscut?
Steve >>
This debate whether it is in jest or not is the perfect example of why I am so happy I beat the addcition and stopped buying slabbed cards over a year ago.
Great looking Bench card! Definitely my favorite along with the 1976. Regarding all the analysis of the card, to each there own I guess. I just think it is a great card and will leave it at that.
<< <i>So what are we saying here? Is the card square or is is miscut?

The card is SQUARE as SQUARE can be. The only reason it appeared not to be, was because the card was tilted in the case. A simple tap of the card, made the card square in the holder.
Thanks all for the compliments...i know i am VERY happy with it. Putting my 7.5 up for sale tonite.

<< <i>Is it just me or is the bottom edge on the back scan not very straight?? >>
You will find it difficult to find a nicer one...
Thanks all for the compliments...

So a wavey cut is the norm for that card??
Took the time to visit a bit and snap a photo. His fingers are mangled.
I'm the fat guy on the left.

Are you saying it is a factory miscut?

Thats what it looks like to me with the straight white lines I've provided.

And that still deserves an 8??

Here it is the other scan. Less pronounced, but still visible.
That would be a handsome turquoise bolo tie. Chicks in New York are paying top buck for that item.
<< <i>Chicks in New York are paying top buck for that item. >>
Chicks and Johnny Bench it seems.
<< <i>Upside down it really doesn't show at all, but that's a crappy way to have to display your card.
Whatever it takes to make him feel better I guess??

Here, let me rotate it for you...
Yea, you had me going for a bit...I got out mspaint and played myself. Nice tip anyway...
No, I like to look at it like this, and it does square up nicely and it will be hard to find a nicer one IMO!

You think I somehow made that horrible miscut happen in the picture below?
Steve
Also, for those wondering about the turquoise in Johnny's bolo tie...
He's partially descended from Native Americans; so it's undoubtedly a nod to that.
