  • Super nice pics. How much was the ride? $150 for the hour?

  • So what used to be where the new stadium is? Parking?

It seems that they're making the new stadium the model for the new one. Great decision in my mind. We don't need another "retro" ballpark.
  • That first pic would be priceless if you get the Steinbrenners to sign it.

It's Yankee stadium, so they aren't going to change much. They're making it more like how it looked "pre 1973 fix up" with the facade once again encircling the upper deck seats like it originally did.

We were lucky enough to find free on-street parking 4 blocks away but everybody was saying there was no parking anywhere!

Oddly enough I really don't have mixed feelings about tearing down the old stadium to put up the new one. I guess it probably has something to do with the fact the current one is in really bad shape, Remember when a piece feel down earlier in this decade? Also because of the mid '70's renovations it isn't quite the same park Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle et al. played in.

Looking forward to the new stadium, thanks for sharing pics!!

Topps plans on buying Yankee stadium and inserting chips into packs one piece at a time until they run out in 2012.

That is very sad, so many memories from that legendary stadium. That was back when baseball was America's sport and also before steroids. What a great era.

I was sad when they blew up Riverfront Staduim to build great american ball park. For all of it's faults it was the home of the Big Red Machine and the Bengals when they were good.. I did manage to buy a seatback from the demo comapany for my house. On the plus side they did save the turf from the place where Pete got his 4192. There was an article that a Revolutionary war soldier may be buried there in fridays Cincinnati paper.
