Crazy eBay situation

In late May I sold an autographed item for $150. After two weeks or so and many emails, the winner bidder (who has thousands of feedback) still had not payed for the auction. I then filed a non-paying thing with eBay and he payed within a hour saying it had skipped his mind. I shipped the package parcel post with signature confirmation and insurance on June 9th and did not hear anything until June 30th. On June 30th, I received positive feedback from the seller with a nice comment. Later that night when checking paypal, I see that the buyer had filed a paypal claim against me saying he had never received the item. I quickly went through my post office receipts and found the signature confirmation label and checked the tracking information - the item had just arrived in his state on the 29th (20 days after I had mailed it). I entered message and reply that included the tracking number and insurance information and heard nothing from the buyer. On the 1st, the package was marked received and signed for by the buyer. Although I've sent several messages since then, the buyer has still not contact me - which sucks because as long as the dispute is open my $150 is on hold and non-existent from my account. Since I had such an unsuccessful time getting ahold of him to actually pay for the item a month ago, I don't imagine he will reply to me this time either. Like I said, he has thousands of feedback and many current auctions on - there's no way he hasn't seen my messages through eBay and through paypal. My question is, if I do not hear from him soon - what do I do to get my $150 back and not on "hold"?

Thanks,

- Joe

Did you respond to the paypal claim and give them the delivery confirmation information?

Call PP and tell them to look at your Sig/Con number.
They should release the hold in a day or two.

".........I shipped the package parcel post........"

That is always a poor decision.

I agree with storm. Unlike ebay, paypal's customer service is actually quite helpful as long as you get ahold of a live person.

I disagree, you have to almost always go straight to a supervisor to get anything done.

It is important to ask for a supervisor anytime the first/second/third
monkey is unable to grasp the situation.

Eventually, you will get the right human and the problem will be solved.

The buyer ended the hold today, the funds are back. Thanks again.

What usually happens for me is the CS rep will tell me he'll pass along my info to the supervisor, and I usually get an email within 2 days that the situation has been resolved. I guess it would make more sense to speak to the supervisor directly.

What I like is when you try to call places like Paypal. Actually credit card companies and utility companies are the worse you ask to speak to a supervisor and they refuse to transfer you. For some reason that irritates me more than anything.
