Anyone else collect golf stuff? Lots of pictures of my collection here.

Well, I've always wanted to show some of this stuff off because no one I know really collects golf autographs. So I scanned a ton of stuff into photobucket and I posted the highlights here. I also have links to the photobucket pages for signed balls, signed flags and signed programs. None of this stuff is for sale, I just wanted to see if anyone else collects this junk.

Players Championship flag signed by every winner except Jodie Mudd (can't find him) and Sergio Garcia (08 champ that I have not seen in person yet)
image

04 Ryder Cup signed by the whole European winning team
image

Masters Flag signed by over 20 winners
image

06 British Open flag signed by Tiger Woods (to me)
image

06 PGA flag signed by Tiger Woods (not personalized - which is amazing if you get it signed in person for free - got at Torrey Pines in 07)
image

Masters Flag signed by Bob Goalby and Roberto DeVicenzo - the guys that tied at 277 in 1968 but DeVicenzo was penalized one shot for signing an incorrect scorecard. This flag has them sign the year and their actual score - I love this one

Here is a link to the page that has all of the flags that I own on it:

Mike's signed golf flags

I also collect signed golf balls. I have unique signed balls from more that 160 major champions - many on balls that have the logo of the course that they won at on them:

55 US Open champ Jack Fleck signed Olympic Club ball
image

75 US Open Champ signed Medinah GC ball
image

59 US Open Champ Billy Casper signed Winged Foot logo golf ball
image

58 PGA Champ Dow Finsterwald signed Llanerch GC bal
image

48 Masters Champ Claude Harmon signed ball - authenticated
image

67 Masters Champ Gay Brewer signed and dated Masters logo ball
image

Jack Nicklaus signed and authenticated Masters logo ball
image

Here's a link to many of the golf balls that I have. If I didn't get them in person, then they are all authenticated - only the dead guys I didn't get myself

And recently I've branched out into programs. Here's a couple

53 US Amateur Program signed by winner Gene Littler
image

95 British Open program signed by winner John Daly

Here's a link to the programs:

I really am interested to hear of anyone on the board who collects this stuff too.

  • Mike, you know I love the golf stuff. I have been tearing my house apart the last few days looking for the one lost cherished golf item I own. My grandfather (no really) gave me a 1970 Byron Nelson Classic tourney program that was signed on the cover by Byron Nelson. When you open the program to where the player profiles are, he got sigs from about 20 different golfers including Palmer and Nicklaus (he was the winner). Now, I can not find the damn thing and it is driving me crazy.

What does a Tiger Woods signed golf ball go for and why are they so rare?

This is the only golf card I have.

Tiger Woods signed golf balls go for minimum of $1,500 and I know a guy who has a standing offer to pay $2,500 for any authenticated ones. They are so rare because he stopped signing them in late 1996. He stated in an interview with the Golf Channel that since his first Masters win (1997) that he estimated that he's signed 50 of them TOTAL...and pretty much everyone in the hobby agrees that they're all been for corporate honks who pay him a fortune to endorse them. The only examples you ever see for sale are ones that he signed as a kid - and they look far different from his autograph today.

Mike - that is a wonderful collection. I love the flags and the way you have tied the winners to the items is very impressive and must have taken a lot of effort. Tiger Woods autographs are very very tough to come by. I've been fortunate to attend the Masters most years since 1964 so I have a collection of Masters' badges, programs and pairing sheets. Have a few autorgraphs - Mize, Langer, Olazabal - and some items from the Opens at Pinehurst. How did you manage the flag signatures - I have a Masters flag and would love to get some autos on it but when I'm at the tournament I don't want to spend my time in the limited autograph area.

    Great stuff.

  • Mike,

I believe that Tiger signed flag is a fake. Please send it to my PO box so that I can verify the authenticity for you.
  • Those flags are very sweet. Where do you get the unsigned flags from?
