Can anyone help???

Hey Guys I just found out my great granfather played for the reds in 1934-35 His name was Harlin Pool . I have found lots of info and stats using my search engine. But was wondering if anyone new where I can find a old team photo or photos of old players so far no luck figured I'd ask if any of the vintage gurus could help me here. So far no one in the family has a photo from his playing days and thought it would be great to find one for me and my dad.

Try the net54 boards. They have a lot of collectors that specialize in that era of baseball. I will try to give you the link.

Here is an interesting link with various 35 Reds photos. It's probably not exactly what you want, but it's worth a look. Enjoy

Harlin Pool had an interesting career. He was a .327 hitter for the Reds in 1934 playing in 99 games. He looked like a sure-fire major leaguer, then the next year he batted .176 in 28 games and was gone. He received votes in a recent "One-Hit Wonder" Poll. I can see why.

    Do you know what happened?

As far as photos, the Cincinnati Reds or the Cincinnati Historical Society may have some stuff. Good luck!!

Click Here for a picture of a Harlin Pool card from the Canadian Wide Pens set.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

The Ohio Historical Society website should be able to help you!

They have photos of just about everything involved with the Cincinnati Reds (Red Stockings, Redlegs etc)

justin I dont know what a PM is??? image Personal message???

my email is frank@centuryoldcards.com, I'll give you all the details in a reply.

The card is located here 1936 R314

Im usually a bit slow with my order emails (I get a couple dozen a day at times), but I'll be looking for yours.... just put "Harlin Pool" in the title.

PS. It may take you a few years before you see another one of the R314D Pool cards for sale, many vintage collectors have never even seen any card from this set. I have seen examples from this rare Canadian set about once a year on ebay and Im always looking for them.

Most of the examples I have were picked up in one large group about 3 years ago.
