BBCE Group Wax Break Part 2?

Another group break has been mentioned on a few threads. Thought I would post a thread to get everyone's opinion. 1989 UD case was mentioned. At $90/box to take the chance at getting one Griffey in PSA 10 condition, I believe the majority opinion is that the risk is not worth the reward. For baseball, I would prefer 1979 Topps wax box (listed at $360), 1980 Topps wax box (listed at $275) or spend a little extra and get the 1976 Topps wax box for $1800. For football, I think the 1984 Topps wax box (listed at $450) would be the most fun. If we threw in basketball too, the 1988-89 Fleer basketball wax box at $535 seems to be the only reaonable option.

I'm interested in all except the 76 Topps Baseball - those are WAY overpriced for the potential of high grade cards being in them. 88-89 Fleer Basketball is also a big risk because centering is a big problem on those cards but because it's not too expensive it could be a fun gamble. 84 Football and 79 Baseball sound awesome.

I do not collect basketball at all but just thought that would be the best opotion for the price.

I opened four boxes of 1988-89 Fleer Basketball last year. The box I bought at BBCE was the second worst of the four. Humidity got to that box and the cards were unsearched but were not in the best condition. I got very forturnate on one of the boxes and it yielded five (no kidding) #120 Jordan PSA 10 cards. I sold those five for a total of $1614. Very fun stuff to open up with four nice rookies and the chances of hitting a home run with a PSA 10 Sticker of any of the players. (yes, almost impossible to do with the centering issues). I'm open to buying 9 packs if we do a box break.

Can someone find out what kind of deal we can get if we did a bust for 79 or 80 baseball, 84 fball and 88/89 basketball?

How does the group break work? Do we all get our own box or do we split the boxes between us? I've never been involved in a group break. I could be interested in the 84 football.

I think for baseball 79 is our best bet depending on what type of deal we can get.

Alright, how many are in for 1979 or 80 baseball and 1988-89 baseketball? I believe the 1984 football is a yes. Emailed Steve and we can get roughly the same deal we got last time.
