What type of packs were the '90 Topps Thomas NNOF cards found in?

Can someone tell me what type of pack the Thomas error was found in? I've got a few '90 Topps packs lieing around and was just wondering if they could possibly have the error in them. I realize that this is very unlikely even if they are the correct type of pack but I am curious about this. Thanks in advance!

    Chris,
I have heard rumors of them found in regular wax but have never met anyone who actually pulled the card from any topps product.
    Roger-

I would say the odds of you pulling that card from any wax you have is probably close to the same as pulling a 52 mantle out of a 1990 topps pack.
  • I have always been told they were in Factory Sets only. It was late in the year that year when the error was surfaced so factory sets make sense.

Did anyone ever pull the George Bush card that made it into packs? How much do those sell for? I've only see one at a hobby shop in Chicago.

Isn't there a high voltage wire somewhere you need to go grab?

It isn't the voltage that does you in, it's the amperage.

Ya know Chris, as the resident Thomas fan, you'd think I'd know this answer. I've been told, most often, that they were found in wax distributed mainly in New England. Seems to be the most common story.

Sure you did. You learned amperage is what kills you, not voltage.

Are we talking about the Jeter/Bush/Mantle card? If so they are all over ebay I am sure one can be had for less than $15.

I'd say 10 to 15 come up PSA graded per year. PSA 8's have gone for as low as $400 and as much as $900 over the last year. PSA 9's go for $700 to $1200.

Topps made a limited number (100 I believe) of cards featuring George Busch in his Yale baseball uniform in 1990 using the 1990 Topps design. They were supposedly issued directly to him to hand out but apparently a few made it into packs.

I have pretty intimate knowledge of the bush card. I just sold one a few months back and the person I got it from was a family member of an employee at topps. I am pretty sure they made around 100 of them to give to his friends and family and they made an extra sheet that some topps employees received. The person that worked there that I know personally got 7 of them. One of them belongs to my best friend and he tried to sell it on ebay about 10yrs ago when he was poor but the bidding only reached about $550 and his reserve of $1000 wasnt met. Today he is rich and doesnt need the money so he will be passing it on to his son. Another one belongs to a 18yr old girl who has it in a safe deposit box and doesnt want to sell it. 4 others are dispersed amongst family members and 1 i sold on these boards. I've held 3 of them and they were all ex-mt. I would be shocked if any actually made it into packs and i am sure that story was told by topps employees who got 1 that weren't "suppose" to.
