Here's the thread Roger is talking about, but no one saved the picture, and now when the cert number is looked up it shows a PSA 10.

Well now, I wouldn't say that. image

Reminds me of one of my old English teachers. Beware the dangling participles and misplaced modifiers... Personally, I've always been leary of the kling-ons, but that's an entirely different story.

Looks like the right side of the Koochieberg slab has been cracked open.image

Actually, I'm thinking that's from the scanner bed reflection. Not uncommon as it lights up the whole side and there doesn't appear to be any evidence around the rest of the slab. The seller has some other high grades and some serious volume, so I'm just thinking it was a bone on a large submission.

You really cant tell if the rest of the slab is cracked or not, the seller has cropped the other three sides to where if he did a good crack open it could be concealed with that scan. That right side still doesnt look right to me, Looks as if it is not lined up right or something.

This is kinda weird. I just logged on the message boards specifically to start a thread asking "what is the most o/c PSA 10 you've ever seen". I was going through some cards to send in and that thought came to me. I think I will start the thread anyway.

We've actually had a couple threads on that Bo Jackson PSA 10 OC. I'm guilty of starting the other one.

Take a close look at the seller's other items. ALL of his graded cards look that way -- even the garbage ones. It is the reflection from the scanner. I seriously doubt he cracks open all of his off-grade cards to substitute other off-grade cards or to maintain a consistent look to throw off the consipiracy sleuths. If you want to think that it's an altered holder or a scam, be my guest.

It seems that about a third of the people on these boards insist that there's something fishy with everything. Then there's another third that insist that even the most documented facts of fraud are inconclusive. I guess the other third doesn't post... image

Amazing that the card didn't get an OC qualifier. What's more amazing is that the PSA "Grader of Death", e.g. "314..." gave the card a PSA 10. Oh wait, there is no such thing as a PSA Grader of Death. My mistake.
