Looks like this eBay seller is really going to the bottom...

I was checking out rack listings on ebay and saw this listing of the infamous who knows where they came from Xmas rack packs. I can see some negs coming as he just changed his photos for his listings. Notice how he has cropped out as much of the Xmas part as possible. I feel bad for people who don't understand what they are buying. Here is a link for the seller in case anyone wants to add him to their blocked sellers, Linky

Seems like ebay should have a disclaimer for packs that are NOT factory packs. What do you all think?

    Here is his schpiel:

"Back in the early 1970's a third party company purchased all of Topps excess inventory. This company took all cards including HOF/Stars/Semi Stars/and commons, and randomly made Christmas Rack Packs for every Year starting 1952 - 1963. This was done after each World Series and sold until all excess was gone. This idea became so popular Topps started to created there own Christmas Racks after 1963. A Very popular item!!"

If the 3rd party company was doing it in the early 70s as he states, and Topps saw how popular they were as he states, then did Topps get in their time machine and go back to 1963 and start creating their own?
  • Thanks for the link. I have been looking for some of these to add to my collection.

Nick the guys a douche but maybe he means that the company bought all of Topps inventory from the years 1952 to 63 to make their racks and Topps made their own for the years 64 and on.

All I can say about these packs is.............. Buy the damn cards, not the plastic/paper wrapper.

X-Mas packs are obviously after market and are not trying to fool anyone.

The cards are ALL 100% authentic! Period!

.....and yes the X-mas packs have been around for more than 25 years too. I saw them in the early 1980s and Im sure they existed before that too. But I wouldnt pay more than $3-$5 a card.

    Far beyond keyword spamming.

    Deep into consumer scamming.

Hopefully, the new EBAY rules will help get rid of some of the CROOKS.
