Do you see any red flags with this Ebay sale?

I list an item on Ebay with Buy It Now or best offer. Buyer purchases the item, after sending me this string of messages all within a few hours of each other (my responses are included):
First message: "Do you take credit card?" Answer: No, not directly. Only through Paypal.
Second message: "I'm ready to buy the card. Can you lower the Buy It Now?" Answer: If you make the offer you said you would make, I will accept it.
(He buys the card.)
Third message: "I went to purchase it and it blocked the transaction, saying it was no longer available." Answer: You won the item. (I send him an invoice).
Fourth message: "I'm attempting to pay you. I have a problem with one of my credit cards and am straightening it out. Just be patient. Thank you."
I get a Paypal payment a few hours later, followed immediately by this.............
Fifth and Sixth messages: "already paid, when you gonna ship?", and "I paid you bro, when are you shipping?"
Am I dealing with a thief here, an idiot, or both? What should I do? He paid for it, but it feels like something's going on.......the guy has 35 transactions, 95% feedback (the first 2 were negative for stuff he sold, the rest are recent and have been fine).

<< <i>Yep, definitely going to insure this one and also get DC. Not taking any chances.

Insurance under $200 does not require signature. Insure it for over $200 or get signature confirmation if you're even the least bit concerned.
sounds like this has potential to be an annoying situation

EDITED TO ADD:
A new site has been started by a young kid.
gozbay.com
He has been giving away stores. There are only a few thousand listings there,
but the media is getting the story about a kid doing a start-up; this could bring
a little spurt of buyers/sellers.
I have opened some accounts, but have not listed yet.
Also, ioffer is in STRONG second place to EBAY. They could see 5M listings, soon.
Even with a 2M pad from the guys that list two AA-batteries for $6.95 + $6.00 S+H,
EBAY listings are in steep decline. The STR is the lowest I have EVER seen it.
powersellersunite.com keeps an hourly count of listings at most of the sites.
if you PM me the username i'd appreciate it..
