E-Bay selling help needed

I need some help, or information on e-bay selling.
My question is this:
Is it acceptable to sell things on e-bay that are shipped from a third party? What I mean is this, if I make a deal with a supplier to sell their things in my store, can I add an amount to my cost and sell, then have the product shipped from that supplier?

I live in Canada, have an opportunity to sell some items from an American supplier in my store, take a cut and have the items shipped from that supplier directly to the buyer.
Is there some rule that doesn't allow me to? I don't want to run afoul of e-bays 1 million rules.
Anyone here have any experience in doing this?
What are the pros and cons to something like this?
Thanks for your time in responding to this question

I was just thinking the same thing - I've been watching people who list Amazon's Gold Box (and other) Specials on ebay with a markup and a shipping charge, sell the same day making a profit, and probably ordering the item from Amazon to ship directly to the ebay buyer (with free amazon prime shipping). Seems slick, but legit to me.

Have no clue what the rules are but I know personally 2 HUGE ebay dealers that dont have a single item in stock and ship everything from a third party. Each one of these ebayers have over 10,000 items in their store and work strictly as an intermediary.

"Drop Shipping" is permitted on EBAY.

It is the process that set EBAY on the road to destruction.

If I was going to do it, I would start a new ID and not risk
    ruining a good one.

MANY drop ship programs are a total scam. MANY are run
by incompetent folks. SOME are totally legit.

When you use a drop shipper, you put your reputation in
the hands of a stranger. If he fails to ship promptly, you
take the heat from the customer.

AMZN has a very nice "fulfillment service." You buy the
merch from your supplier and it is shipped to AMZN.
When you get orders on EBAY - or wherever - AMZN
ships the stuff to your customer. VERY reliable program,
    and very economical.

  • Thanks guys for the info, I did think it was permitted, just didn't want to run the wrong way with e-bay and have my account suspended.
Drop shipping is a great way to make some extra cash, if you have faith and trust the supplier.
    Thanks again

A good source of information is the Seller Central board on EBAY.

If you ask your question there, you may get a broader picture of
what the process is really all about.
