Yes He Is a Vegetarian, Smacked 50 HRs last year, Has Tax Problems, But Will Prince Fielder’s Curren

...Continue To Affect the Values of His Rookie Cards?

The guy hit another inside-the-park homer yesterday (I swear I heard the Benny Hill music playing as he rounded third), his second in two years, but his power numbers are down significantly. He has claimed that he's turned vegetarian for multiple reasons, but one of them was because he wanted to improve on the defensive side. In my opinion, he's been pretty mediocre on defense this year.

So, is this guy as good as people expected him to be, or was he just another hype machine?

I think he still has lots of potential. But IMO he needs to lose more weight. How many salads does it take to offset the meat that he doesn't eat anymore?

    Go Cubs.

He was asked a little while back if he's getting tired of salad and vegetables and his response was, "last time I checked, cake ain't meat."

    Yikes!

    Go Brewers!

That's sig line material there! I can't believe how long it took him to get around the bases last night. It was pretty funny to watch.

...Benny Hill music indeed. ba dut da da dada da dadadada da da
  • he should put down the mixed greens and start eating some protein.
  • When Corey Hart hit an inside the park HR a week or so ago, the showed side-by-side and synced, his and Fielder's from last year. Hart got home about 3 seconds before Prince. It was hilarious to see Hart reach home and then there was nobody in the video clip on the other side for a couple of seconds, then you see Prince finally barrell in, lol.

As far as value, I'd say big potential. He's having a slow year hitting, but there's plenty left in the season. And his numbers aren't anything that I would call "bad." We'll see what the Crew does after arbritration. I hope they keep him around. Him and Braun could be sweet building blocks. And I say they make a bid for Ichiro. Now that would be one fast outfield; Braun, Ichiro, and Hart!!!!

  • i think his high was last year. he'll need to make another run at the MVP, become a mega star and/or break records to see the same percentage increases in his cards we witnessed last year. there is still room for increase, but as with most modern rookie cards...the highest increase comes during his breakout season.
  • I still can't believe he has two inside the park home runs in his career.

Although did you see the right fielder for the Jays on the one from yesterday? The ball was just sitting under the padding on the wall and he stood there with his arms up wondering where it was. Geez, I bet he falls for that disconnected thumb trick everytime, lol.

I saw the highlight of that inside the park HR and I could not believe how heavy he is...probably the biggest baseball player I've ever seen...

He has 3 years max left in his MLB career. His body will break down from weight issues...back, knees, shoulders, hips...way too much stress playing MLB baseball.
