burbank sportscards..1996 ultra

I saw some boxes i want from his ebay store but the prices seem a little high. Are they cheaper in the physical location?
I need a few 1996 ultra series 1 baseball boxes but $47.00 seems absurd.

btw: if anyone could find me a few boxes i will pay you a little finders fee. I want to pay $30per box. I feel like these should be $10boxes but dont really know.

Is that the series with the Ortiz RC? If so, that would explain the high price.

ahhh, i could care less about ortiz. Damn, i hate trying to crack wax and having a card i could care less about driving up the price.

btw: how are you awake at 9:30am in vegas. Shouldnt you be slumped over a table somewhere doing shots with "friends"

Nevermind, Ortiz is 97. No idea why 96 is so high.

I'm back from Vegas several dollars poorer than when I went there. Stupid Vegas.

Did you see Javon Walker there??
  • CDsNutsCDsNuts Posts: 10,092
Sting- that's funny. Yesterday I sent my brother a text message saying that I got back to even, but I feel a little guilty about robbing Javon Walker.

No rookie cards in that issue. The only thing of value would be the inserts for player collectors. I can't even get excited for that issue as I can't even remember if Puckett is even in there and none show up on the pop reports.

Cheaper in the store??? Usually not. They look online for the prices before they sell. I have gotten the owner before, and maybe with cash you could knock off a little bit. But it's not going to be 25% off or anything. Considering gas prices, if you are not within a 15 minute drive, then don't bother.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

That '96 set is great. Roger, if you end up with a Frank Thomas HR Kings redemption, I'd be interested.

Plus, that's the best gold medalion base set Ultra ever created.

I don't know, I think it's kinda cool the way they did the gold "feelie" background from 1998 onward. And those diecut ones in 2000 totally rock.

I already got the 1995 GM set (not the inserts though; wouldn't that be awesome to also have all the GM inserts???) a little over a year or two ago; if only getting the other GM sets was that easy. image

I have a few of the promos of this card, but I really need the redemption card, the GM, and the GM redemption card. One of my favorite childhood inserts.
