I collect a crap load of bills. For example, I just got this today for my minivan in the shop.

Busted rear light assembly = $116
    Front brakes = $476
    Rear brakes = $475
    Damaged struts (pair) = $768
    New tires (4) = $572
    Busted rim = $211
    Alignment = $109
    6 six year service/tune up = $375

Oh yeah, life is good image

I prefer stamps; but, I would not suggest they are a good "investment,"
unless they are bought Super CHEAP.

Postcards also appeal to me. I like expensive ones and cheap ones.

Currency appeals to me, from time to time.

    Original paintings are also nice.

Stuff that i get signed in person. I don't mess with a third party for my auto's, unless it's impossible to get a particular person. Mainly bats, OMLB, 8x10's, and cards. If you saw my spring training thread, you know what I'm talking about!

Edit: I also collect event pins. My dad's been buying a pin from almost every sporting event I've attended, if available. I have multiple Daytona 500s, Rolex 24 hours, and other races, 2003 World Series, 2003 NLCS, pins from rugby matches that I went to while I lived in Scotland, all types of stuff really. I should dig some of that stuff out.

Watches, fountain pens, pipes, concert used guitar picks, coins, pottery, antiques in general...what don't I collect would garner a much shorter response.

I've been thinking about making the plunge into political collectibles. Mastro has the piece that might just get me started. I have *no* idea what it'll go for, but it's pretty cool. McKinley and Bryan condiment jars from 1900.

    Very cool.

Done it a few times and there's nothing quite like finding a solid arrowhead.

No really, ummm...Man From UNCLE stuff, Green Hornet stuff, DVD's, CD's, Comics, Books, Nintendo Games. I used to collect U2 stuff, but most of that I sold. Wish I hadn't though. Pretty neat stuff from Achtung Baby, Zooropa, and POP era. I had a giant inflatable Lemon at one point. That was pretty cool.

I love Nintendo games! We just got done having a Dr. Mario tournament here at the house tonight with some friends. Just recently beat Mario 2 with the mushroom. That was pretty awesome. I've logged more hours this year on my Nintendo than my Xbox for sure.

Need to either fix the control (circuit board has some cracks do to some aggressive use) or try and find another for it. Was probably the most expensive single Christmas gift I ever received while growing up and it has seen a lot of use over the years.

And the latest addition to the small guitar collection. Was originally to be given to my son by his grandfather who owned it for many years (he didn't take care of it very well) but after some research we decided (his grandfather and I) that I could have it and if my son shows any interest in picking up guitar I will find something better designed for a child.

I found out last week there is a site about 80 miles from me that produces alot of fossils. I was skeptical, but had some free time today so I loaded up and went out there. I finally found a place to get river access and the first sandbar I came to was loaded with fossils. I was there about an hour total and picked up 50 or 60 without doing any digging. Cannot wait until it cools off and I can get to some bars further from the access points to see what is there.

    Will have some pics later.

I also collect minerals, fossils, and various geological items. Girlfriend's dad is a petro engineer, he has a good supply of stuff.

  • Doing that brought back some memories. Me and my grandmother used to go Crystal digging in Arkansas when I was a kid.

The large ones are about the size of my hand and weigh about 1.5 pounds each.
Not bad for about an hour of work.. We won't talk about the quicksand I found out there though. Luckily the clay bottom was only about 3 feet down.
