Anybody ever used StubHub.com to purchase tix?

Anybody familiar with this on-line ticket broker? Just looking for some piece of mind before I register and give them my CC information, etc.

I bought tickets from StubHub for the first time the other day for the Red Sox/Reds game in Cincy and everything worked out great. I would definitely use StubHub again.

I've used them to buy tickets a few times. I've never had a problem. It's a little like ebay...you're not buying tickets from stubhub, you're buying tickets from other people who use stubhub to advertise the tickets. I've always gotten my tickets, though. Your credit card information never makes it to the seller, so if that's your concern, I wouldn't be.

Didn't eBay purchase or buy into StubHub, or at the least form some sort of partnership with them?
  • I've sold many of my Yankee tickets via Stubhub. It's a lot less painful than eBay typically.

Stubhub takes a straight 15% cut from the buyer and seller, but they handle all the shipping (usually FedExt), and won't release the funds (via PayPal or check) until the buyer gets and is satisfied with the tickets.

If you sell a pair of tickets for $100, Stubhub gives the seller $85, and charges the buyer $115. Probably less fraud as they have some guarantees that your tickets are real, etc.

  • I don't think eBay bought Stubhub but SH is part of the paid advertisers program using the EPN developers in eBay program. We used them for a few months on our site and got nothing so we dropped from their program.

eBay bought Stub Hub last year for ~$300 mil.

I used Stub Hub almost exclusively to sell my extra Sharks season tickets. I can't say enough good things from a seller standpoint. They make the whole transaction super easy from both sides.
  • I love StubHub...much better than TicketMaster IMO

Yes, used them to get NHL Playoff tix, front row window.

Stub hub gives you the convenience of seeing mulitple section tix at different prices without all the hype BS you get on ebay auctions
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I use stubhub alot and I have found if you check a few hours before an event you can purchase tickets off of stubhub fairly inexpensively. They have a booth set up at a hotel next to the event and you can just go pick up your tickets. It is very easy and has saved me some money a few times.

very reliable, but YOU WILL PAY THROUGH THE NOSE

    always last resort....
  • Yes..I buy and sell on StubHub...really the only way to go for selling tickets these days. Buyers will pay a premium, but some people are ok with that.
  • Got great tix for opening day a couple years back to see the O's and the A's. Got the best seats I could afford and sat with the season ticket holders behind the home dugout. Great game, the guy next to us on the left was a regular and knew all the info on the players and scored the game so he could chat about each player last at bat. The guy on the right had snuck in from the bleachers and he was trashed drunk but just as passonate of a fan as the other guy. It was a fun outing.

The key to the deal was stub hub redirecting our tickets to the hotel b/c they had not arrived by the day we were to fly to Baltimore. They listened to the situation and were able to accommodate the request to redirect them without giving me a hastle.

  • Used them last week to buy ticket's for the Giants/A's game on Father's Day. Paid $40 each for two Lower Box seats about 30 rows behind the Giants dugout. Dad was thrilled. Printed tix out on home computer and they worked fine.

I ordered my tickets for reds @ yankees game (next sunday) on Sunday and they arrived this morning with no problems. StubHub emailed me within 5 minutes of their arrival telling me to check them and telling me to take StubHub phone # with me to the game in case there are any problems.

My first try with StubHub and I'll be back for more.
