Ever send in a complete raw set for grading

Has anyone ever sent in a complete raw set for grading using a PSA special? I'm talking about bigger mainstream sets (i.e at least 100 cards or more)

I read that a 1973 Topps set (avg 8.12 grade) sold for over $10,000 - not sure what the Schmidt graded
If you had a nice raw set and had it graded at $5/6 card, you would probably have less than $4000 in PSA/insurance fees. Even if you had to upgrade a few cards, there would still be some money to make.

This of course assumes you already have a nice raw set. Even if you did have to buy the set, you could get a nmt/mt set for under $1000 pretty easy.

    I have full raw sets of Topps 1973 through 1980. I don't know if there will ever be a time that I shell out that much money to have a full set of 400+ cards graded. That's a lot of mulah!!! I'll probably keep doing what I have been, grading the star cards, then going to low pop commons. If/when I finish that, I might think about sending in the rest of the commons, but I always have something else that I would rather spend money to have graded. Although I'm currently in the mind set of not selling these sets, so I guess my mentality could change if I ever decided to sell them.

    I'm sending a full set of 38 Churchman to SGC in a couple weeks - only 50 cards though.

    I forget who it was but someone sent a bunch of 197x's (forget exactly what year) from a set they picked up and thought was perfect. They ended up getting horrible grades, had they sent the whole set they would have been out $4,000+

    hate to flaunt my ignorance, but don't you still have to pay a premium for the anticipated value of key cards..ie PSA 8 OR 9 RYAN, SCHMIDT etc?
