Boycott Barry Bonds Cards?

I heard a rumor floating around that many dealers were going to begin boycotting Bonds cards/collectibles in light of the recent events...is this accurate or just crazy talk?

I've always used his cards as TP. Its really the best use of his image and what it stands for.

Don't botcott them. Send them to me. I'll put them to good use.

Long before the steriod rumors, I loved pulling Bonds and Clemens cards. Great trade bait. Stands true today.

Ouch. I'd imagine that you're dealing with a different type of "roids" if you do that!

Last 2 shows I set up at you couldn't give away Bonds cards, he is ice cold in the midwest.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
  • Still selling on ebay for some reason. Maybe Barry is buying all his own cards and when he has them all they will be more valuable because they will be in limited supply? Just pulled all my Bonds cards last night and think I will put them all in one lot on ebay tonight. Maybe I will just have a bunch of 1 day auctions and advertise it as a steroid bonanza and sell lots of Giambi, Caminiti, Sosa, Canseco, Mcgwire and Sheffield.

Barry Bonds got his money before the cards of him even left the factory. A boycott would be totally useless, unless the objective was to hurt everyone who hasn't sold their Bonds cards yet.

    stupidity talking

Bonds is the second greatest hitter ever, and the most feared hitter ever IMO....period!

I saw him play 90% of his games in SF either on TV or at PacBell, and played against him many times for 2 years in HS/Am.Legion days. The guy dominated at every level and backed up his "hotdoggin" every time. I could care less about steroids, they dont make the player, the talent is natural, steroids wont help bat speed and handeye. Steroids were everywhere in the 1980-90s, its the era........ get over it!

The above is what drives me crazy. No, steroids can make you hit a ball. But they can make you stronger, quicker, which allows you to wait on the ball a little longer, which means you can ID pitches better, which means you have more bat speed, and on and on...

All of these guys are just working out because it makes them look good right? Bonds was very, very good, but there's a reason his numbers jumped while on the juice, and not a coincidence. Brady Anderson didn't just happen to find his stroke and pop 50 out, Jay Gibbons just signed with the Atlantic League for goodness sakes. Off the juice he isn't even a major leaguer. It works for pitchers too, google Dan Naulty and see what he says. It can't make a non-athlete an athlete, but let's not pretend it is irrelevent.

As for his cards, FKW shows why there will never be a boycott.

  • FKW, I have one each of every 1986 and 87 Bonds rookie card (except for the Ray error) in PSA or BGS 9 that I will gladly send you for about $60 dlvd. Was going to save them for my son one day but do not want him studying the stats of a lying cheater. Just for entertainment, will someone post the photo of the 87 Topps "skinny" Bonds?

  • I might be interested in buying some graded cards of Barry Bonds. If anyone is interested in selling some, please send me a PM. Thanks.

Why JUST Barry Bonds? If the issue is steroids, then what about Maguire, Palmeiro, Clemens, Giambi, Sheffield and the list goes on....

    I have a Question and a comment.

Does the Japanese Pro Baseball League test for steriods?

I think Bonds should go over there and rip up the league for 2 seasons since hes not playing here.

It would be fun to see him limp around and hit moonshots, lol.
